I help small and mid-sized businesses who’ve outgrown junior, box-ticking marketing – but aren’t ready for a full-time Marketing Director – get a clear plan, better leads and a more confident internal marketing team.
WHO I WORK WITH
Right now, I mostly work with founder-led SMEs in the North West, typically with 10–100 employees.
They usually have:
A Marketing Exec or junior marketer already in the business
A heavy reliance on referrals, word-of-mouth or a couple of “old faithful” channels
A Managing Director or Head of Sales & Marketing carrying overall responsibility for growth
What they don’t have is a senior marketing brain on the leadership team to set direction, join the dots, and help their junior team focus on the work that actually supports sales.
That’s where I step in – as a fractional Head of Marketing / CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) and guide for both the leadership team and the marketer on the ground.
HOW I THINK ABOUT MARKETING
In a business with 10–100 people, marketing has to earn its place. You don’t have the budget or headcount to do everything an enterprise would do – and you definitely don’t need a dozen disconnected “campaigns”.
My view is simple:
Marketing should make life easier for sales, not create pretty noise.
Your junior marketer needs clear priorities and coaching, not just another to-do list.
Your investment should be focused on a handful of activities that bring in leads your team can actually close – and that you can measure and improve over time.
I call it grown-up marketing for businesses who aren’t huge yet – senior thinking, but sized to fit a SMALL TO MEDIUM SIZED BUSINESS.
WHERE I’VE DONE THIS BEFORE
I’ve spent the last 10+ years in agencies, mostly working with SMEs and complex B2B businesses on content, brand and demand generation for both B2B and B2C businesses.
Most recently, I was Head of Marketing for Avidly HubSpot Solutions, one of the world’s largest HubSpot partners, leading marketing across multiple regions. In 2025, the marketing I led generated double the target sales opportunity, despite a changing digital landscape and increasingly noise channels and dark funnels.
Before that, I worked my way up from content and strategy roles into leading creative and marketing teams, overseeing websites, campaigns and brand work that picked up multiple HubSpot awards.
Along the way I’ve:
Built and led teams of marketers and creatives from junior hires to confident managers
Helped businesses in sectors from tech and SaaS through to industrial and professional services
Spent a lot of time translating between owners, sales leaders and marketers so everyone is pulling in the same direction

HOW I WORK NOW
Most of my work is as a fractional Head of Marketing / CMO for founder-led SMEs who already have some marketing activity in place but need senior direction.
I typically work:
1–4 days per month on an ongoing retainer, or
On focused projects like brand and messaging, marketing strategy, or fixing under-performing content and campaigns.
I’m also open to conversations about the right permanent senior marketing or Director/Head of Marketing role, if there’s a strong match on scope, team and values.
